This week's edition is a sad one.

Sad for 3 reasons.

And myself

Have left the SEFA and joined the PFA

The reasons for me are actually quite simple. I've spent 7 seasons competing in the SEFA and basically would like a new challenge and I feel the PFA gives me that so sorry SEFA, will miss you all, a great fed with some great people in it. Il still be in chat so bug me anytime hehe.

I am trying to find a new challenge and thats the only reason I am leaving.

As you can see Season 8 in the youth leagues was slightly one sided, with David Johnston taking 4 titles!!! For his youth side

Heres what David had to say about it:

there are many but I have to say that it was <Darren Fletcher:player#127973?4129512806> he played as defensive MC and connected all lines in my team. He was mostly a sub in season 6 so lets say that he proved himself to be an important player this season

This week out interview is good boy gone bad its SEFA org of the summer time! Its Patski!

 

James Bambridge: Hi Pat how are you today?

Patrick Armstrong: I'm good :)

James Bambridge: good !!

James Bambridge: Now you weren't in Clough at the start, what GW were you in before and why did you move to Clough?

Patrick Armstrong: I was in Fernandez beforehand, I moved because I know a few of the mods from beta, and I was meant to be in here, but transferred around before it started without knowing i couldn't come back for 30 days!!!

James Bambridge: ah, that's always good to know mods and fellow players rather than just joining a game world just to play in it.

Patrick Armstrong: There was one in particular... ; )

James Bambridge: You straight away joined the SEFA, how are you finding it and do you think it's the best fed within Clough?

Patrick Armstrong: I'm finding it good, got promoted in my first season I think, which was nice, and also went 14 games unbeaten, now just about surviving in the premiership, just need to keep building my team and hope to survive further, as for being the best FA, the SUPER just sums it up in a word really : )

James Bambridge: Fantastic : ) hope you continue it.

James Bambridge: Now once you joined Bader was quick to sign you up for being a SEFA org as he took my place, how you finding having power within the SEFA?

Patrick Armstrong: its good so far, haven't really taken the training wheels off yet, in off season Bader pretty much done everything, but I hope to help him out more next time around

James Bambridge: Well its next Thursday the season ends :D

Patrick Armstrong: If Bader reads this then... get me to do more, i wanna feel like I actually helped this time!

James Bambridge: Oh he will read this :D

James Bambridge: Now changing subject slightly to your actual team, you have focused on the youth to building them up into world class players, how they coping and any stand out players for you this season?

Patrick Armstrong: I'm trying to, still yet to produce an actually WC player, but a few are close, most of them seem to be coping well with being throw in at the deep end, and i few look like they've been there for years! as for stand outs, there's quite a few; Adolfo Arboleda always plays well, and already my captain, signing of the season goes to Duke Adams who has been amazing , and then there's a few youths who are strutting their stuff in the youths

James Bambridge: Sounds like your building well for the future bud !! and i know first hand Dukes good : )

Patrick Armstrong : haha a lot of people are starting to i think

James Bambridge: Back to the SEFA. What's your views on the SEFA chat room and how much do you enjoy it?

Patrick Armstrong : i think its very lively, and we have a good bunch in there. There are obviously the ones who contribute a lot, and then there's those who come out with the out of the blue comments, often me and you !! and i like BALA! He makes the chat fun :D

James Bambridge: great news

James Bambridge: Now Pat, rumors have gone round the office this week about why your colour is pink and basically i was asked by everyone else in the office to why that is?

Patrick Armstrong: well i wanted purple, but you had taken it, so really you are to blame for my femininity coming out!

Patrick Armstrong: ... and it looks pretty of course

James Bambridge:Well the SEFA was purple at start off with so as a reporter ive got to take the colour. But the reports the news room has got is that your actually a girl!

Patrick Armstrong : the ghosts in my closet revealed, how did you find out?! and it is not completely right, the story behind it is that i used to dream of being a girl, and some things just stuck, like admiring the prettiness of pink! <:emoticon#60>

James Bambridge: Well i knew from that we first met.....woops! i mean, REALLY! WOW! finally the SEFA has a girl so Carlos can flirt with.

Patrick Armstrong : But what about him and Bala?!

James Bambridge: Carlos is a pimp, he can have anyone he wants, besides Bala won't find out

Patrick Armstrong : Well if hes a pimp, im getting paid for my services!

James Bambridge: Carlos makes the rules!!

Patrick Armstrong : Not if he wants me on his books, im that good!

Patrick Armstrong : You should know, rubber duck bring back any memories...

In the championship, AI is still in control of 7 teams with 100% AI, and with another 5 teams with 50% AI or more. Still one team was able to emerge victorious from the AI jungle, Honka are top of the championship and looking comfortable. A.S. United are in 2^nd place but with their Ai% still above 50% , their promotion won't happen unless they manage to lower their Ai%. In 3^rd place , a very active team, Chickenvalley Wizardz are looking to go back to the premiership as soon as possible and their 3^rd place will definitely grant them that. Other contenders for promotion are TenTwoPoker in 5^th place and Bablyon Project in 9^th
and their low AI% will give them advantage against teams above them in the league table with high ones.

This week I decided to focus on the SEFA’s younger generation. I went around some of the clubs competing in the SEFA’s under 21’s and under 19’s league and asked the managers about there youth and who stands out to be tipped for fame and glory. This is Youth watch!

My first stop was believe it or not my own club, had to tell the first time how shit they are and give my love to my youth team, really love….
As I took my morning training session which involves me watching the team slug their guts out for hours while I sit at the bar, having a pint and watch Trisha, I listed my top 2 players which will be stars:

Was signed during pre-season and has been a star for my youth team.
So far its 365(5) appearances for the young Spaniard, with 59 goals, 110 Assists, 22 MoM and with an Average rating of 7:04

Captain of the youth team and the solid CB that everyone needs he will be a fantastic DC in a few seasons, oh by the way, he isn’t half bad with his head scoring 93 goals in 371 apps.

After I finished my player’s list, I finished my pint, left my players out in the cold because I had the keys to the changing rooms and went down to see Carlos who was in England for the week for another pint and a chat about his Youth prospects.

Cristian has clocked over 374 appearances for the youth team and with a great come back of 32 goals, 114 Assists, 17 MoM with an average rating of 7:02, it’s no wonder Carlos is tipping his guy to be a huge player in the future.

Now this is obvious on why Carlos has chosen him, he looks like an awesome keeper, great from aerial threats and with 20 for throwing and 17 for kicking a keeper who can turn defence into attack very quickly,

Signed at 16 years old by Pat (who was 16 at the time as well * giggles *) he has been a consistent performer for the Silly Eagles (cos The Eagles are the Folkestone Eagles :P) with this season 188 apps, 43 goals and an average rating of 7.02 for the Croxley Eagles he looks a fine talent, and only the other day sealed a loan move to Bala’s Funky Town, an average rating of 7:14 suggests he can do it any where.

AKA the Mexican Hitman with 400 apps and 215 goals this youth striker is a class act, along with that 62 assists and 47 MoM, This is definitely one for the future. Also admittedly I felt a sense of injustice talking about Rogelio because I bidded 15k in the wage action which saw him end up in the arms of David.

David has found himself a true talent in goal in Paul, awesome stats and just only 21 years old, has his best years miles ahead of him, an impressive 146 appearances and only 130 conceded is very good for a youth goalkeeper. Also 139 first team appearances.

The Brazilian hitman has struck 88 times in 209 appearances and still considering his age of 17! This kid has huge talent for Bader’s team in the future and gives us all another problem to sort out.

Cris looks a fine up and coming MC at the age of 15 its hard to tell how good he will be but he will be good that’s for sure.

Another fine start to the SEFA season. A few changes here and there, but it promises to be a thriller. With more inter-organisation involvement and some top class teams involved the competition will be fierce. But have you ever wondered whether we're all.....getting TOO involved with this game?

I remember the time I was reading an newspaper article - written by a police man - in the Mirror (Who is it? Cant remember. Anyway, doesn't matter) and he was talking about how online football management games have taken over from football gameplay simulation games, like Fifa and Pro Evolution. However it mentioned a dangerous trend of people starting to neglect their daily lives for the sake of playing these management games. Although most of the article was pretty off-the-wall, I do agree that on occasion it starts to feel like an unbreakable addiction, which is bad. So maybe we should start drumming to a different beat.

It makes me happy sometimes after working day and night to kick back and relax by coming up with new tactics for my youth team, or scouring the transfer market (Usually searching for those elusive invincible wingers running around like they're on speed, demon strikers with a keen eye for goal, etc) It's like I cant help it. And sure, maybe sometimes I try to jam in as many minutes as I can just to avoid cleaning the dishes. It's not as if I'm totally hiding in the closet though.

Perhaps it's just human nature to assume everything is so bad all the time. The lady in my life agrees with the article, and thinks maybe I should spend less time on here. (Could be worse - I used to go out with a girl who thought ALL computer games were evil, but then again she's out of my life now!) However, I don't believe the argument is that black or white. I think there's a definite grey area.

When I signed up, I wanted to take things completely seriously. I spent time on this game because I didn't want to end up like just some crappy manager wannabe. Starting something as complex as, say, a new Under 17 team takes serious work and dedication. But it's important to keep the faith - ultimately its worth it. Sure, sometimes it's a heartbreaker when you lose an important final. But the butterflies I get whilst playing that final can't be denied.

So should we have to take the rough with the smooth? Criminal though it may seem? Should we stop complaining and just give in? To me, the answer is yes. Whatever happens, I know I'll be logging on here for many weeks to come. The question is, will YOU be there?

SEFA Review By: King James Bambridge

Hey guys,

Welcome to another edition of the SEFA Review and as ever I'll be looking at the Premiership within the SEFA. With the season a week long now, many games have been played and it's a very different story to last seasons start:

Defending Champions FC Porto Kenshin lay in 6th place with 6 games played for the Portaguse side, with 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats it looks like Carlos has to try and pick his team up if he wants to defend his title successfully. Although no surprise for Bader's Phantoms, they lay 2nd with 8 games played, 7 wins and 1 draw. Bader is the last team in the premiership this season to be unbeaten, which says so much to the strength of his defence to keep out the best teams in this league. But leading the pack and setting the pace is newly promoted side IMT Fairground, After 16 games played he has managed 10wins, 4 draws and only 2 loses. For the rest of the teams its too early to see how there doing, although we managed to get a quick word with Folkestone Eagles boss Myself about his poor start to the season:

"I blame Bala"

2nd and 1st in the league Bader Algubaisi and David Mitchell exchanged bitter words to each other at there recent press conferences during the week, although after the press conferences they were both seen booking in the same hotel, reports suggest that only 1 of the 2 rooms were slept in...

James Bambridge: first of, i want to ask you how you finding the SEFA since the members have become chatty and a more fun atmosphere to the place?

Mr. Bala: It's horrible. Having to pretend like you're enjoying the company? Chatting to everyone? Ugh.

Mr. Bala: But the really awful part was the ill-advised webcam addition. Thank God the mods did away with that quick sharpish. I still have nightmares. <:emoticon#50>

Mr. Bala: First off, I told you to stop it with the men's mags. You'll go blind, I'm telling you. Secondly, don't believe everything you read in the men's mags. Thirdly, who the hell READS the men's mags? Yeah, 'I only buy it for the articles'. RIGHT. Sure. I believe you, you filthy swine.

Mr. Bala: Fourthly, I love Carlos and I don't care who knows it! Crap - I said that out loud, didn't I?

James Bambridge: Thank you for that Bala <:emoticon#9> and yes it was aloud, but only the people with the internet will know about it.

Mr. Bala: Phew! That's a relief.

James Bambridge: so moving on to football matters for 5minutes before going back to general rubbish <:emoticon#9>, hows the season for you at the moment?

Mr. Bala: It's going great, thanks! I've settled nicely into my spot in 16th place, which is nice. Spent the past few seasons really putting the stamp on that place, so it's nice to get right back into that groove again. And the rest of the season will be spent hoping a few people above me break the AI restrictions and get relegated! Another season in the life of Funky Town! Hoping for a decent cup run though, as opposed to the usual cup trots and cup walks that we've been used to.

Mr. Bala: Wow, that's a big block of text right there.

James Bambridge: top stuff mate <:emoticon#72> i also noticed this morning while walking into the office a nice draw with Bader in the Premiership.

Mr. Bala: Oh yeah, we always turn it on for Phantoms. Every dog has it's day. Even the arthritic, diseased, flea-infested dogs. With one eye. And a stump for a leg. Did I mention the fleas?

James Bambridge: yes you did and if i remember rightly the dog is called Fluffy....

Mr. Bala: Such a nice name.

James Bambridge: heart goes out to it.

James Bambridge: Has Swine Flu aswell...somehow...

Mr. Bala: It's a Chihuahua

James Bambridge: and finally Bala before i cry with laughter, anything you would like to say to your fellow SEFA'ers?

As we have seen the votes last season resulted in a few changes to playtimes & AI%. The AI% for SEFA now is 25%, anything above that will penalized by 40% of the prize money. Teams will be relegated or denied promotion if the AI% is +50%. In the championship, a lot of teams are over the AI% and 7 teams out of 17 have 100% AI. They need to start playing games to keep their prize money and aim for promotion.

Top of the league is the new comers Honka who are looking strong and are the favorites to win the title. With only a few games being played in the league, Bablyon Project, A.S. United, TenTwoPoker, he's a BWIG boy united, FC Nueva Casta, Chickenvalley Wizardz, and FC Carter all look close and we will have to wait till next week to see who will keep the race on. All the bottom teams have 100% AI except for Halewood in Brighton who have 0% AI and this will surely help them climb the league ladder.

Hey again SEFA'ers, this week a few days just before the new season gets under way, I took a look at what's been happening during the off season within the SEFA:

As I arrived at SEFA HQ the changes were noticeable from the start, the layout of SEFA head office has been totally change, new colours, new design, and with a new fantastic Badge, created by SEFA's man down under Adam Howard, AI% and playing times have also been changed, its at times like this the SEFA can hold its head high and be proud of its own identity which was put in place at the end of last season.

The Pre Season is a chance for the SEFA to bring new members into the fed; sadly it's a time to lose members as well, and this season we have lost more than we have brought in.Sadly this season the SEFA has only managed an intake of 4, but one of though's has been High Flying Andreas Panayi manager of Honka, he had this to say about joining the SEFA:

Andreas Panayi: "well, to be honest im looking forward to the next season to start more than any other time in the past. I already know some people in SEFA"

We wish him all the best and everyone else for the new season.

But the pre-season is also time for the wacky season of wage auctions and gives people time to tweak there tactics and strengthen there side and this season in the SEFA its been no different.

Folkestone Eagles manager James Bambridge has been quiet in the market this time around, although reports say he wants his lighting quick winger Juan Quero out the club, apparently its because the little Spaniard keeps trying it on with Mr Bambridge's girlfriend these reports have yet to be denied.

The only buy of the pre-season was a free agent, 16-year-old Sergio Soto. Reports all ready indicate that this player has huge potential so it will be interesting if James can get the best out of him.

Bader Algubaisi has been busy with his Phantoms, an intake of 10 youth players to build up his under 17's title contentions for the new season has not gone unnoticed, and after the sales of Defensive rock Alessandro Gamberini and RB Jose Antonio Castro.

Reports suggest that Bader was in the hunt for Ezequiel Garay who was sold just the other day for 1.9m. But Baders keen eye for a buy saw him pick up RB/DC Fabiano Santacroce for 570k. The Italian national newspaper also suggest that Francesco Silvestri maybe on his way out of the club after the superb striker was found completely drunk in strip club in the early hours of the morning before a warm up match the other night. Mr Algubaisi had to be phoned in the early hours to collect his striker and take him home, although other reports suggest Bader was in the club with him also completely drunk.

Philip Caswell's Spartak Aston has been busy with signings of Ryan Taylor for only 300k! And Solid defender , Maynor Figueroa. Reports were Jermaine Jenas was going to leave the club after a fight with pacey striker Lateef Elford- Alliyu in a training ground bust up, although Mr Caswell denied these reports and told the reporter to F**k off before chasing him down his drive way with a spade.

David Johnston continued to boost his youth academy with the signings of two highly rated wingbacks Raul Del Rio and Duke Martins. David's agent told us "Mr Johnston is always scouting out the best up and coming youth and will continue to do so"

In another local tabloid paper David Johnston has been referred to Arsene Wenger, and even seen them together having tea and biscuits in a local cafe.

Grant O'Callaghan has been very busy within the market, and the huge buy of Samir Nasri made everyone look up and take notice, the sales of young superstar David for 2.25m and goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama for 600k has give Grant cash to splash and will no doubt see more signings for his team yet. Some members of the SEFA are trying to get an embargo set for Grant as they think his team is strong enough already.
